From a photo to a 3D print in four steps

A photo of a figurine, a discontinued part, or a keepsake can become a physical print without any modeling skills. Here's the whole workflow, free end to end.

1. Generate the mesh

Upload your photo to the Pic2Mesh generator. Best results: one object, plain background, even light. Download the GLB when it finishes (~1 minute).

2. Convert GLB to STL

Open Blender → File → Import → glTF 2.0, pick your GLB, then File → Export → STL. That's it — textures are ignored for printing, only the mesh matters. (Many slicers, including PrusaSlicer and Bambu Studio, also import GLB/OBJ directly, letting you skip this step.)

3. Check and repair

AI meshes are dense and occasionally have thin regions. Run your slicer's built-in repair (or Blender's 3D-Print Toolbox) to close holes, and scale the model to real dimensions — AI output has arbitrary scale.

4. Slice and print

  • 0.2 mm layers are plenty; the mesh detail is soft anyway
  • Tree supports handle the organic overhangs AI meshes produce
  • For figurines, 10–15% infill is enough
